“The windows depict an aspirational dramatic and immersive design inspired by the Spring 17 Coach runway show. They capture a cinematic highly romanticized point of view featuring All American 50’s rusted pretty Sedans , with contrasted modern high gloss, and chromed scaffolds, sitting in a field of wildflowers and roses, with romantic inscriptions on the windshield spelling “Love me Tender”, glowing in warm shades of pinks, a nod to Elvis, Coach’s season muse. The design intend is to tell the story of a group of girls and boys gangs, hanging out near an abandoned parking lot, listening to Elvis’s music dressed in the subverted mashup of the Spring 17 Coach Collection inspired by Beatniks, Rebels and Rockabillies." This was a takeover of our Coach Store in Soho and turning it into a Colette Pop up in collaboration with the Colette Team in Paris.
Set against a poetic all American backdrop from the spring men’s show. The window juxtaposes coach’s core values revolving around leatherwork, craftsmanship and artisanship with the mood and tough romance of the Spring 17 Men's collection. This design is brought to life thru an art installation using 100's of beautifully chromed leather craft tools composed in the shape of a heart, in one window and hovering over the merchandise in the other. The entire scheme uses authentic and modern materials such as warm chrome, wood, neon lights, leather, etc. to create the perfect backdrop to the irreverent and bold collection created by Los Angeles based Artist, Gary Baseman in collaboration with Coach.

"Spring 2015 sees the launch of the first Coach collection created in collaboration with Californian artist and animator Gary Baseman. The collection introduces a series of darkly playful “creatures”—including the charming, mischievous beast Buster Le Fauve—who are all brought to life with the individuality and idiosyncrasy of the Coach girl in mind. They hear her secrets and hopes, frolicking across the season’s bags and ready-to-wear, with each becoming a wearable, collectible piece of Baseman art."

The design explores a tongue in cheek take on Wild Beast inspired by Buster, one of our collection character and by "Where the wild things are".
We wanted to play on scale and the unexpected with the large scale arm, hand and claws of the beast busting thru the window space and cheekily interacting with the mannequins and bags. The colors, textures and materials juxtapose to deliver an artful, and elevated results. These windows are truly one of a kind, hand crafted by artisans and artists, and we hope you will enjoy them and treat them as specially as they are.

THE WALKERS: An Art installation series of responsive light window installations created by in collaboration with Ivan Toth Depeña, for Reed Krakoff's flagship windows.
The Madison Avenue window uses a camera tracking mechanism to affect the lighting. The pedestrians change the intensity of the vertical light composition with movement. The viewer's physical presence activates the lights by turning them on and off. The public subtly changes the windows ambient light as they walk by.
